Carson Rotisseries – The Portable Rotisserie Grill
With tailgating season upon us, I can’t help but salivate over some potential new toys for this football season. Carson Rotisseries has seemed to pique my interest with a new concept on portability and the rotisserie grill.
With rotisserie grill models that include either five or seven rotating skewers, you should be able to please a crowd with mouth watering, self-basted delights in the comfort of, well, wherever you are! These units pack up into a convenient brief case, so you can also pretend you’re an action hero in a culinary spy flick ready to move should your location be compromised. Come on, I know you’ve secretly combined dreams of 007 gadgetry and perfectly cooked cornish game hens.
A Quick Lowdown:
Construction is out of aluminum — keeping it light and rust free. A stainless steel option would be interesting but would certainly affect the cost and weight.
Your fuel source is charcoal, and the rotisseries offer removable charcoal pans.
As for power, each comes with a rechargeable battery as well as an adapter to plug in nearby be it AC or a 12 volt car outlet. I’m not sure how long the battery will last.
All that aside, these fancy cookers don’t bring home the Brazilian steakhouse experience for nothing. Prices range from $699 to a whopping $999. For that, I’d rather purchase a Big Green Egg or a Weber Genesis (with built in rotisserie) and watch the big game at home.
If they knocked $200 off the price tag and removed the giant, incredibly ugly logo, I’d be sold. If you’re listening, Carson Rotisseries, let that be your mission — should you choose to accept it.
