It’s time to kick off Spring! Get ready for another awesome event from Grilling Addiction, Grill-A-Thon VII! We’re six times strong and ready to kick up some coals and throw some more good times on the grate. This Spring’s epic event is set for Saturday, May 22nd in Fargo, ND in conjunction with the Fargo Marathon. As motivated people take thousands of steps toward accomplishing lifelong goals, we’ll be taking minimal steps beyond the nine foot parameter of our Weber kettles and consuming large amounts of beef, pork and booze.
The location is set! Our good friends over at Fort Noks in downtown Fargo have offered up their Bar of Gold for Saturday’s festivities. Fort Noks has the biggest and most rockin’ patio downtown and is not only on the Marathon route once, but twice. The runners will be passing by headed South on Broadway and will be making their way back North the same way. It will be a great opportunity to give your support! And… eat free food. And… drink bloody marys.
So what is Grill-A-Thon? The events started a few years back when we knew we loved grilling, but decided we needed something that pushed us into continually fine tuning the skill of the grill. By announcing a “Grill-A-Thon,” the event committed to hot food off the grate from 9AM until we could no longer stand. This way, we had at least an entire day dedicated to perfecting techniques as well as deadlines for recipes we’ve been working on.
The event is entirely informal and doesn’t cost anything. It’s really just a place for our friends to get together, hang out, and see what we’ve been working on. Some of the food turns out great, and some of it becomes a disaster. Either way, it’s an awesome time. If you’re in the neighborhood, stop on by. Even better, if you have your own recipe, bring it on over. We’ll have some open grates for you to show us your stuff!
