The Perfect Grilled Steak
Wegmens Food Markets is back at it with another great video installment. They couldn’t have picked any better cuts: tenderloin, strip, ribeye, flank and my personal favorite – tri-tip.
There’s a couple great tips in the video, but I’d like to mention a couple more that I think should definitely be covered.
1. Make sure you let your steaks reach room temperature before putting them on the grill. A cold slab of meat will seize up when it hits the grill and you’ll lose out on tenderness.
2. When you salt and pepper your protien, be patient, wait for that salt to melt and desolve itself into the meat. Trust me, you’ll notice a huge difference. That salt will begin to penetrate, work on drawing those natural juices toward the edges and work its magic.
I’ve also learned that Wegmens sure does love their basting oil!
